Tallahassee police say at least 12 people were injured in Saturday night's shooting near Florida A&M University's Bragg Memorial Stadium, 11 of them by gunfire, including six juveniles — an update to our earlier report, when victim numbers were unknown.

This is an update to our earlier report on the shooting near Florida A&M University’s Bragg Memorial Stadium, published when police had confirmed victims but not their number or injuries. Tallahassee police have now confirmed the casualty figures.

At least 12 people were injured in the shooting near FAMU’s Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday night, Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell said at a late-night press conference, according to the Tallahassee Democrat. Eleven of the victims suffered gunshot wounds; six were adults and six were juveniles, with the youngest just 11 years old. One older woman was injured amid the panic.

Of the 11 people shot, three were seriously injured, including one in critical condition, and eight were stable, Revell said.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. local time on Saturday, October 24, near Perry and Manatee streets, next to Bragg Memorial Stadium. Preliminary information indicates an altercation between individuals took place before the shooting, Revell said. The scene was declared secure at 9:45 p.m.

Florida A&M University said in a statement at about 11 p.m. that the campus remains safe and that its hearts go out to the victims and all those affected. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tallahassee Police Department on 850-891-4200.

The investigation is continuing.
