Khamenei adviser warns Iran would strike 'nine countries' if attacked again
Mohammad Mokhber, adviser to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, said Iran would strike 'nine countries' — unnamed US allies in the Middle East — if its military bases or petrochemical facilities are attacked again.
Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, has warned that Iran would strike “nine countries” — unnamed US allies in the Middle East — if Iranian military bases or “petrochemical” facilities are attacked again. ZeroHedge, quoting regional media
Mokhber made the threat in recorded comments posted by Tasnim, the semi-official news agency close to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; the recording did not name the countries. Al Jazeera’s live coverage of the US-Israel war on Iran also carried the pledge on Monday, summarising: “An adviser to Iran’s supreme leader pledged retaliation against ‘nine countries’ – without naming them – if Washington restarts the war.” Al Jazeera
Separately, IRGC spokesman Brigadier-General Hossein Mohebbi said in a Tehran Times interview on Monday that most US bases in the region “have been rendered inactive” and that American forces were “exhausted and worn out”, having “withdrawn hundreds of kilometres away from Iran”. Dawn
Mohebbi added that Tehran had not ruled out renewed conflict and that any fresh US aggression would be met with a far more forceful response. He warned that “if the region becomes insecure for Iran, then there will be no security in the region”. Al Jazeera
The warnings came as US President Donald Trump said Washington continued to hit Iran “economically and militarily”. Al Jazeera
