Roche strikes $15bn-plus ADC deal with China's Hansoh Pharma

Hansoh Pharmaceutical will receive $400m upfront plus potentially more than $15bn in milestone payments in a broad antibody-drug conjugate collaboration with Roche — its second ADC pact with the Swiss drugmaker in a year.

China’s Hansoh Pharmaceutical has struck a collaboration and licensing deal with Roche potentially worth more than $15bn, covering a broad portfolio of antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) cancer therapies, announced on Monday 19 October 2026.

Under the terms, Hansoh gets $400m in upfront cash and $110m on the deal’s first anniversary, plus eligibility for more than $15bn in development, regulatory and commercialisation milestones and tiered royalties on future sales.

The portfolio covers two preclinical ADC programmes at Hansoh plus further ones on Roche-proposed targets using Hansoh’s proprietary ADC technology. Hansoh leads development through global Phase Ia trials; Roche then takes over worldwide except mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, where Hansoh keeps all rights. Hansoh may also co-develop up to two programmes outside Greater China.

“Building on the ADC partnership we announced last year, we are delighted to further strengthen our collaboration with Roche,” said Eliza Sun, executive director of Hansoh’s board.

It is the pair’s second ADC pact in a year, following the October 2025 deal worth $80m upfront and $1.45bn in biobucks for the CDH17-targeted ADC HS-20110, aimed at colorectal cancer and other solid tumours.

The deal underlines Roche’s accelerating ADC bet. The Swiss group sells two approved ADCs, Kadcyla and Polivy, forecast to generate combined sales of 3.5bn Swiss francs ($4.3bn) this year, per LSEG data. Facing patent cliffs, Roche’s Genentech struck a $1bn-plus ADC deal with DualityBio in August.

ADCs are targeted cancer therapies that attach toxic chemotherapy directly to tumour cells while sparing healthy tissue.
