Delhi Police deny permission for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert at JLN Stadium
Delhi Police have refused permission for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 show at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, citing 'specific threat-related inputs' and festive-season security commitments. The decision was communicated in a letter to ticketing partner BookMyShow; organisers have yet to comment.
Delhi Police have denied permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled October 30 concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, the show that would have opened the India leg of his Aura India Tour, The Hindu reported.
The decision was conveyed in a letter from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) to ticketing partner BookMyShow, answering the organisers’ application dated 14.10.2026. The letter cited “specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law & order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law & order concerns.”
A senior Delhi Police officer confirmed to The Indian Express that the letter had been sent to BookMyShow, with officers saying the force is stretched thin on festive-season deployments across South District. The newspaper, citing officers, reported Dosanjh had allegedly received threats from Khalistani separatist groups, which he had reported to police.
The Delhi date was originally November 1 but was preponed to October 30 after Punjab Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney appealed for the change, as November 1 marks the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence, The Statesman reported.
Bookings were still live on BookMyShow at publication, with tickets listed at Rs 6499 onwards for the six-hour concert from 4 pm, Deccan Herald reported. No clarity yet on cancellation or rescheduling; organisers have not commented. Other India stops: Indore (Nov 15), Ahmedabad (Nov 21), Mumbai (Nov 27), Bengaluru (Nov 29), Lucknow (Dec 5), Chandigarh (TBA).
