Final complainant tells court Brand texted he wanted to 'push you even further'
The final complainant in Russell Brand's trial told police a text exchange months after their encounter left her feeling "really degraded" and "like a piece of meat", as jurors heard her recorded interview at Southwark Crown Court.
Jurors at Southwark Crown Court heard on Wednesday the final complainant in Russell Brand’s trial alleges he anally raped her at his Hampstead home in 2009 after she had willingly gone there for consensual sex, Reuters reported.
In a police interview played to the court, the woman — a self-described massive fan of the 51-year-old — said that about six months after the alleged incident she saw Brand at the Edinburgh Festival, where she was working, and he later texted her.
Asked why he was messaging her, she quoted him as replying: “Because you are dirty and I want to push you even further.”
She told police she responded he had pushed her far enough and “treated her like an animal”, to which his immediate reply was “I’m sorry” — an exchange that left her feeling “really degraded” and “like a piece of meat”.
The court also heard she had joined a sexual encounter with Brand and another woman in his dressing room after a Hammersmith Apollo gig, then gone to his home about a week later for consensual sex.
Brand’s lawyer, Ian Winter, suggested she had agreed to the anal sex, describing her as “young, impressionable and obsessed” with him. She replied: “I didn’t agree to do it,” PA reported.
Brand faces three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault against six women between 1999 and 2009. He denies them all and told police he never engaged in non-consensual sex.
