Mumbai Crime Branch has recovered two firearms and 10 live cartridges from Surat that police believe were used in the 18 October firing at actor Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu, and a 22-year-old man has been arrested in Indore, taking the number of people held in the case to 11.

Mumbai Crime Branch has recovered two firearms and 10 live cartridges from Surat in Gujarat that police believe were used in the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on 18 October.

The recovery was made on Friday 23 October during targeted raids at a hideout in Surat, after investigators tracked the logistical trail of the weapons supplied to the assailants, a police official said. The recovered firearms and ammunition have been sent for forensic examination and ballistic testing to match them against shell casings retrieved from the crime scene.

In a further development, police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, arrested 22-year-old Pranjal Thakran on Saturday 24 October, taking the number of people arrested in the case to 11, according to The Tribune. Police suspect Thakran, originally from Sonepat in Haryana, provided logistical support and financial or operational assistance to the shooters and key conspirators. The Hindu reported the Indore detention, quoting Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Raj Tilak Roshan.

At least two men fired gunshots at Shroff’s car on the evening of 18 October before speeding away on a motorcycle. The actor escaped unhurt, while his driver and a bystander were injured; police say five to six rounds were fired. Three men arrested at Kota railway station were earlier remanded in police custody until 31 October, and the case is registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
