Nashville SC have won the MLS Supporters’ Shield for the first time in club history, beating CF Montréal 2-0 at Stade Saputo on Saturday 24 October 2026.

After a scoreless first half, Sam Surridge opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, finishing from close range after his initial header was parried by Montréal goalkeeper Samsy Keita. Captain Hany Mukhtar doubled the lead in the 76th minute, capitalising on a Montréal turnover to poke home a lunging finish.

The Shield is awarded to the MLS team with the best overall record each season. By winning it, Nashville secure home-field advantage throughout the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs and a berth in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Nashville did so with three regular-season matches remaining, equalling the fastest Shield win in MLS history. The club now stand at 21 wins, three defeats and seven draws, with 70 points — the best 31-match start in MLS history.

It is Nashville’s second major trophy, following their 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup triumph. Head coach B.J. Callaghan called the Shield “a huge step forward for the club, for the city and the connection that we have with the supporters”.

Surridge’s goal was his 18th league goal of the season, while Mukhtar’s strike was his 17th — and his seventh in his last six matches. Goalkeeper Brian Schwake recorded his 14th regular-season clean sheet, a club record for a single season.

Nashville will continue their chase for the league’s single-season points record when they host the Philadelphia Union at GEODIS Park on Wednesday 28 October. They need five points from their final three matches to pass Inter Miami’s record of 74 points, set in 2024.
