Declan Rice struck in the 82nd minute to rescue a 2-2 draw for Arsenal at Bayern Munich in a thrilling Champions League league-phase clash on Wednesday night.

Arsenal were rocked early when Bukayo Saka limped off with a non-contact thigh injury after just nine minutes, but his replacement Eberechi Eze gave the visitors the lead on 25 minutes. Alphonso Davies levelled ten minutes later after a defence-splitting pass from Harry Kane, and Kane converted a 61st-minute penalty following Jurrien Timber’s handball — before Rice burst into the box to fire home the late equaliser.

Real Madrid made it three straight European wins with a 4-1 thrashing of RB Leipzig at the Bernabéu. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring just before half-time, Arda Güler doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, Kylian Mbappé bent home a third on 83 minutes and Yan Diomande — against his former club — added a late volley after Tidiam Gomis had pulled one back.

Aston Villa maintained their perfect start with a 3-1 win over Viking, thanks to a Ross Barkley header, an Emiliano Buendía penalty and an own goal forced by Alysson, with Peter Christiansen replying late.

Elsewhere, Inter earned their first points of the campaign with a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, Club Brugge beat Lens 3-0, LASK produced the shock of the night with a 3-2 victory at Sporting CP, and Real Betis edged Feyenoord 1-0.
