Israeli strike kills Palestinian couple in Gaza despite ceasefire

A Palestinian couple, Akram Yassin and his wife Dina Yassin, were killed early Tuesday when an Israeli strike hit their home near Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City, medical sources told Anadolu.

A Palestinian couple were killed and several others injured early Tuesday in an Israeli strike on a residential home near Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City, medical sources told Anadolu Agency.

The sources identified the victims as Akram Yassin and his wife, Dina Yassin. Staff at Al-Shifa Hospital received the couple’s bodies alongside four injured Palestinians, including three women, following the strike, according to the Anadolu report.

Witnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli helicopter fired at least one missile at the family home, sparking a blaze that civil defence crews later extinguished.

Separately, Israeli artillery shelled areas east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, with no immediate reports of casualties, Anadolu reported. Israel National News also confirmed that sources in the Gaza Strip reported a husband and wife killed in an Israeli air force strike on an apartment in western Gaza City.

The strikes came amid continued violations of a ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025. Gaza’s Health Ministry says Israeli violations of the truce have killed 1,522 Palestinians and injured 5,421 others since the agreement took hold.

Since October 2023, more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 175,000 injured, according to the Health Ministry’s figures, with around 90 percent of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure damaged or destroyed.
