Russian airstrike on Kramatorsk kills one, wounds six including three children

A Russian airstrike on a residential neighbourhood of Kramatorsk in Ukraine’s Donetsk region killed one civilian and wounded six others, including three children, Ukrainian prosecutors reported on Friday, Oct. 23.
According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Russian forces dropped three FAB-250 aerial bombs fitted with UMPK universal glide and correction modules on the city at 15:44 local time, hitting a residential neighbourhood and damaging at least 27 residential buildings.
Among the six injured were two women aged 45 and 54, a 47-year-old man, and three children — girls aged seven and ten and their younger brother, one year and ten months old. The victims suffered mine-blast and closed head injuries, concussions and shrapnel wounds, and all were receiving medical treatment, prosecutors said.
The bombing came three days after Russian strikes on Kramatorsk on Oct. 20 killed four civilians, including three municipal heating workers preparing the city’s infrastructure for winter, and another civilian died in an FPV drone strike the same day.
Donetsk region remains one of the war’s hardest-hit areas, with Ukrainian-controlled Kramatorsk repeatedly targeted by Russian aviation and drones in recent weeks.
