Key militant commander killed in Balochistan's Qila Saifullah operation

Security forces have killed Adil Shah, alias Darvesh, a commander of Fitna al-Khawarij, during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan's Qila Saifullah district.

Security forces have killed a key militant commander during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah district, security sources said on Sunday.

The commander was identified as Adil Shah, alias Darvesh, a commander of Fitna al-Khawarij who had been affiliated with the group since December 2020, according to the sources.

Shah had overseen the group’s financial affairs since 2024 and facilitated accommodation for non-local militants in the Zhob, Sherani and Shaban districts, the sources said.

Security sources said he was involved in attacks on security forces and kidnapping for ransom in 2022 and 2023. A bounty of Rs2.5 million had been announced for information leading to his arrest.

The operation was carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, the sources said.

Balochistan’s adviser on information and political affairs, Shahid Rind, praised the security forces for the operation, describing it as evidence of their operational effectiveness and paying tribute to the sacrifices of security personnel in the fight against terrorism.
