King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh resumes operations at Terminals 1 and 2 on Sunday, two weeks after a deadly Houthi missile strike closed the airport, the airport said on Saturday evening.

Terminal 1 will be designated for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights operated by national carriers, the airport said in a travel advisory posted on X. “We kindly advise passengers with confirmed bookings to contact their airlines to verify the status of their bookings and flights before heading to the airport,” the statement said.

The airport was closed after the missile attack by Yemen’s Houthis on 10 October, which killed 13 people and wounded more than 300, Arab News reported. The attack sparked international condemnation of the Iran-backed group.

The reopening follows fresh Houthi claims on Saturday that the group had targeted King Khalid International Airport and other Saudi airports, energy infrastructure and refineries. Those claims were reported by Flip News on Saturday evening, and Saudi authorities have not confirmed the claimed strikes.

Saudi authorities have repeatedly announced the interception of Houthi projectiles aimed at Riyadh and other regions, the Saudi Gazette reported, while civil defence teams have responded to incidents involving falling interception debris.
