The Sindh cabinet decided on Tuesday to make public the judicial commission’s report probing possible negligence in businessman Mir Raza Ali’s murder investigation, Dawn reported.

At a meeting chaired by CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, the cabinet decided the report — presented in seven sealed envelopes — goes up on the provincial home department’s website on Tuesday, with a copy for the aggrieved family.

The chief minister formed a four-member sub-committee to oversee implementation of the findings, comprising Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Labour Minister Saeed Ghani and the Sindh advocate general. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on X: “The government of Sindh remains committed to transparency, accountability and ensuring that due process of law is upheld.”

Headed by SHC Justice Omar Sial, the commission handed its sealed report to the government last week after examining 49 witnesses across 15 hearings; formed in August, its tenure was extended to October 15.

On Monday, father Mir Hussain Ali and counsel Advocate Jibran Nasir demanded a joint investigation team at the Sindh High Court, alleging the police probe was compromised, the Express Tribune reported. Nasir said the family wrote to the chief minister on October 12 seeking the report but got no response.

The 25-year-old went missing on July 28 after leaving his PECHS home; his body, bearing gunshot wounds, was found a day later in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Police initially treated it as suicide, but a second post-mortem found that “inconsistent” with the evidence, Dawn reported.
