A Russian drone strike on a residential building in Synelnykove, in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, killed three people and injured at least eight others, including an 11-year-old girl, the regional governor said on Saturday.

A Russian drone strike on a residential building in Synelnykove, in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, killed three people and injured at least eight others on Saturday, the regional governor said (Kyiv Independent, Ukrinform).

The drone hit the building and started a fire on the fourth floor, damaging a nearby shop and several cars, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, writing on Telegram. An 11-year-old girl was among the injured, and a 50-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man were in serious condition (Ukrinform, Kyiv Independent).

The strike came during a day of exchanged attacks. Ukraine’s defence company Fire Point said its drones were used to strike a petrochemical plant and a warehouse belonging to online retailer Ozon in Russia’s Omsk region, while the Omsk regional governor, Vitaly Khotsenko, reported an attack on an industrial zone without confirming which facilities were hit or assessing the damage (Times of India). Russia’s Energy Ministry said Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure cut electricity to parts of Crimea and Russian-controlled areas of eastern and southern Ukraine (Times of India).

Synelnykove district, close to Russian-occupied territory, has endured frequent attacks, and lethal Russian drone strikes are a daily occurrence across Dnipropetrovsk region, which borders the front-line Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions (Kyiv Independent).
