Micron posts record $54.2 billion quarter as AI demand lifts earnings more than tenfold

Micron Technology reported record fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion and adjusted earnings of $33.42 a share, with full-year revenue hitting $133.19 billion on surging AI memory demand.

Micron Technology reported record fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion, nearly quadrupling the year-ago figure as artificial-intelligence data centres continued to drive demand for its memory chips.

Adjusted earnings were $33.42 a share, up from $3.03 a year earlier, ahead of Wall Street projections of $31.72. Revenue of $54.23 billion, against $11.32 billion a year ago, also beat expectations of around $51 billion, according to Dow Jones Newswires. GAAP net income was $37.70 billion, or $32.87 a diluted share, for the quarter ended September 3.

For the full fiscal year, Micron posted record revenue of $133.19 billion, against $37.38 billion in fiscal 2025, with adjusted earnings of $75.52 a share, its official release showed.

“Micron delivered record fiscal 2026 results, and we expect an even stronger fiscal 2027,” chairman and chief executive Sanjay Mehrotra said. “AI is becoming Super Intelligence (SI), and memory enhances this intelligence and the competitiveness of our customers’ platforms.”

For the current quarter, the first of fiscal 2027, Micron forecast adjusted earnings of $38.15 a share on revenue of $61.5 billion, at the midpoints of ranges of $37.15 to $39.15 and $60 billion to $63 billion — both above analyst estimates, Reuters reported. The outlook implies year-on-year earnings growth of roughly 698% and revenue growth of about 351%, Investor’s Business Daily noted.

It was the company’s seventh consecutive quarter of triple-digit percentage earnings growth. Micron shares, which have more than tripled this year, Reuters noted, edged up in after-hours trading following the announcement, Barron’s reported.
