Eni will pay a one-off €1.3bn special dividend and raise its 2026 share buyback to €3.8bn after third-quarter adjusted net profit surged 125% to €2.8bn, beating the company-compiled consensus of €2.48bn, Reuters reported.

The €0.46-per-share special dividend will be paid in December, ad-hoc-news reported, while the ordinary €1.1-per-share dividend was confirmed, pollar.news reported. The Italian energy major raised its 2026 cash-flow guidance to €16.5bn from €15.0bn and lifted the buyback from €3.4bn to €3.8bn — its third increase this year — ad-hoc-news reported.

Adjusted operating profit doubled to €5.99bn, Dow Jones noted, driven by record refining margins: Eni’s standard refining margin hit $28.1 per barrel versus $8.9 a year ago, while its refining and chemicals business earned $529m against small losses last year, OilPrice.com reported. Oil and gas production rose 7% to 1.83 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Nine-month adjusted profit reached €6.4bn, up 70%, and net debt fell 33% to €6.702bn, pollar.news reported. Pro forma gearing stands at 9%, per ad-hoc-news. “The excellent results achieved in the third quarter stem from the strength of our operating model and selective investments in our portfolio of competitive assets,” chief executive Claudio Descalzi said.
