“As of today, Senator Bato [dela Rosa] will be considered armed and dangerous. We are placing a bounty of P50 million for his capture,” Remulla said. He added that the reward would be funded from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) intelligence funds. Dela Rosa has been given one week to surrender. PNP chief Gen Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr confirmed the ultimatum and warned that anyone helping the senator hide would face legal consequences. A task force headed by Gen Wilson Lopez has been assigned to track down and arrest him. The senator is wanted under an International Criminal Court warrant, unsealed on 11 May 2026, charging him as a co-perpetrator with former president Rodrigo Duterte of the crime against humanity of murder in connection with the drug war. He has not been seen publicly since leaving the Senate on 14 May. Both men deny the allegations, and Dela Rosa’s lawyer said his camp had no comment on the bounty.
