Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller has agreed a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale extension, beating the rookie-extension deadline in the offseason's second-largest such deal.
Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller has agreed a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension with the team, TSN reported.
Miller’s agents, AJ Vaynerchuk and Joey Middleton of VaynerSports, confirmed the deal to ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday, Sports Illustrated reported. The agreement was struck ahead of the 6pm deadline for rookie-scale extensions, making it the second-largest rookie extension of the offseason behind only Victor Wembanyama’s deal.
Miller, 23, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 draft. Last season he averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists across 65 games, emerging as the centrepiece of Charlotte’s rebuild after the team traded LaMelo Ball to Minnesota.
The extension locks Miller in as the Hornets’ foundational player heading into a pivotal season for the franchise.
