Rams lose star receiver Davante Adams for 6 to 10 weeks with ruptured hamstring

Davante Adams ruptured his hamstring in the Rams' 18-16 home defeat to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and will be sidelined six to 10 weeks, head coach Sean McVay confirmed.

The Los Angeles Rams have lost star wide receiver Davante Adams for six to 10 weeks after he ruptured a hamstring in Sunday’s 18-16 home defeat to the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Sean McVay announced on Monday.

Adams suffered the non-contact injury while running a route in the end zone during the fourth quarter and did not return to the game. He was sent to the sideline for the Rams’ final offensive snap, and further tests confirmed the rupture, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 33-year-old has been one of the Rams’ few bright spots in a stumbling season, recording 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns through six games. His absence is a major blow for a team that has fallen to 2-4 after a third loss in four games and now faces an uphill fight to stay in the play-off race.

The timeline also makes Adams unlikely to face his former team when the Rams host the Green Bay Packers in Week 12, just six weeks away at the short end of McVay’s recovery estimate.

Adams is not the only Ram sidelined. Defensive tackle Kobie Turner is headed to injured reserve with a groin injury and will miss four to six weeks, while defensive tackle Poona Ford (triceps) and kicker Blake Grupe (torn ACL) are out for the season, McVay confirmed.
