NBA names Kalshi and Polymarket as preferred prediction-market exchanges

The NBA has designated Kalshi and Polymarket as its preferred prediction-market exchanges, the league said on Monday 26 October 2026, in agreements that put integrity protections in place and limit the markets that may be offered.

Kalshi said it would use official NBA data, distributed by Sportradar, in the operation and settlement of authorised NBA markets, and that it and the league would share integrity data, report suspicious trading and cooperate on investigations. The agreement includes restrictions on permissible markets and a ban on league and team personnel trading NBA event contracts.

The NBA has also extended its longstanding marketing relationship with DraftKings to include the company’s prediction-market platform.

The announcement coincided with a memorandum of understanding between the NBA and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), signed by CFTC Chairman Michael Selig and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, under which the two bodies will share information that could affect the integrity of professional basketball. “Protecting the integrity of the game is our top priority,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, the NBA’s head of media distribution and partnerships.

The NBA is the third major North American league to strike a prediction-market deal, after the NHL and MLB. The move follows recent sports-betting scandals that led to lifetime NBA bans and other charges, including the arrest of more than 30 people last year in connection with a federal probe into illegal gambling.
