AEW star PAC died of bronchial asthma, medical examiner rules

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that AEW wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as PAC, died of bronchial asthma on September 27; the death was ruled natural.

All Elite Wrestling star Benjamin Satterley, known to fans as PAC, died of bronchial asthma, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined. The death was ruled natural, USA Today and Geo News reported on Friday.

The 40-year-old was found unconscious and unresponsive, slumped over in a rental car at a CAVA restaurant parking lot in Des Plaines, Illinois, on Sunday, September 27 — just one day after wrestling Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship at All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates.

First responders found no injuries or suspicious markings on Satterley, noting only saliva on the front of his shirt and medication in his vehicle. His phone had Google Maps open with a route to O’Hare Airport displayed.

The Newcastle upon Tyne native, who began wrestling in 2004, performed in WWE as Adrian Neville — “The Man That Gravity Forgot” — before joining AEW in 2019, where he became the inaugural AEW International Champion and a two-time AEW World Trios Champion.

The ruling, the first official word on the cause of death in nearly three weeks, closes the question that followed his sudden passing the night after he competed.
