Rick Devens wins Big Brother 28 in 6-1 jury vote

Survivor alum Rick Devens defeated Taylor Brown by a 6-1 jury vote in Thursday's 90-minute live CBS finale, taking the $750,000 grand prize and adding $50,000 as America's Favorite Houseguest.

Rick Devens has won Big Brother 28, defeating Taylor Brown by a 6-1 jury vote in Thursday night’s 90-minute live finale on CBS. The two-time Survivor player takes home the $750,000 grand prize; Brown, the runner-up, receives $75,000. (Page Six)

Devens, who competed on Survivor 38 and the milestone Survivor 50, won the decisive third part of the final Head of Household competition, then evicted his day-one ally Drew Campbell and chose Brown to sit beside him in the final two. The jury rewarded him with six votes — Angela Murray, Barrett Pfeiffer, Yash Patel, Melody Morris, Dee Valladares and Campbell himself — while LaTrice “Lala” Verrett cast the sole vote for Brown. Host Julie Chen Moonves used the finale to announce the show has been renewed for two more years, covering seasons 29 and 30. The season also marked a milestone: Big Brother became the first primetime series to reach 1,000 episodes. Survivor host Jeff Probst sent Devens a message of congratulations during the broadcast.
