Dolly Parton's estate accuses nephew Bryan Seaver of evading service with barbed wire
Dolly Parton's estate told a Nashville court her nephew Bryan Seaver evaded service of process — citing barbed wire and caution tape on his front steps — as it opposed his request to delay the Oct 9 hearing.

Lawyers for She’s Alive, LLC — the company Dolly Parton established to protect her professional interests, run by longtime manager Danny Nozell — filed papers on Oct 5 in Davidson County Chancery Court in Nashville alleging her nephew Bryan Seaver is evading service of process, USA Today reported.
The filings push back against Seaver’s request to postpone the Oct 9 hearing so he can meet his new counsel. The estate alleges he “attempted to evade service of process, and this Court should not reward that behavior,” adding that he said he would retain counsel but failed to do so, and asking the court to deny the extension.
A process-server affidavit describes three attempts: around 4:35pm on Sept 24 and again on Sept 25, with no one answering the door, and the evening of Saturday, Sept 26, when the server found “no trespassing” signs on the lawn and by the front door, with yellow caution tape and barbed wire “surrounding the front steps.” Photos in the filings show barbed wire zig-zagging over the steps.
Separately, Judge I’Ashea Myles on Oct 6 rescheduled the hearing on temporary injunctive relief to the morning of Oct 20, extending the temporary restraining order. She cited the estate’s delay in paying the TRO bond — the order was entered Sept 23 but the bond was not paid until Sept 29 — and noted Seaver’s security company cannot represent itself under Tennessee law.
SAL sued Seaver on Sept 22, alleging a “campaign of threats, intimidation, and coercion,” including a written vow to “destroy the entire brand.”
Seaver told ABC News by email on Tuesday that the restraining order prevents him from speaking publicly. He previously denied the allegations, calling the order “spurious and simply a publicity stunt” and saying he was fired over “contrived threats.”
