LA medical examiner rules Chad Lowe's daughter Fiona's death a suicide
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has ruled the death of Chad Lowe's 13-year-old daughter Fiona a suicide, with the case still open.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has ruled the death of Fiona Hepler Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of Emmy-winning actor Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter, a suicide, according to USA Today. The ruling was released in a case update on Oct 1; the case remains open, the office said.
Fiona died on Sept 29. According to the medical examiner’s statement, she was pronounced dead at 1:14 am on Tuesday, Sept 29, at a Los Angeles hospital, Geo TV reports, citing People.
Lowe and Painter announced their daughter’s death in a family statement to People on Sept 29. “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family wrote, describing her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance,” and “the light of our lives.” They asked for prayers and privacy, and their message included information for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Fiona, born in November 2012, was the middle of the couple’s three daughters, alongside sisters Mabel, 17, and Nixie Barbara, 10, Parade reports.
Chad Lowe, 58, is an Emmy Award winner best known for Life Goes On, Pretty Little Liars and 9-1-1: Lone Star, and is the younger brother of Rob Lowe. He married Kim Painter in 2010.
