R&B singer Jacquees was arrested in Hollywood, Florida, on Sunday on charges including driving under the influence and battery on a first responder, police said.
The 32-year-old singer and songwriter, whose real name is Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, was taken into custody just before 8 a.m. on Sept. 27, according to a statement Hollywood Police provided to the USA TODAY Network-Florida. Deputies had responded to a call about a person “passed out” inside a vehicle near North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, CBS News reported.
While being transported to the hospital, Broadnax “became combative with first responders,” police said. He faces charges of DUI involving alcohol or drugs, battery on an officer, firefighter or EMT, and resisting without violence.
He was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and appeared in bond court on Sept. 28, where his bond was set at $3,500, WSVN reported. Court records later showed he had bonded out by Monday morning, and no trial date has been announced.
Jacquees, best known for the hits “B.E.D.” and “You,” is the former partner of Deiondra Sanders, the daughter of NFL legend Deion Sanders, and the father of her son, Snow.
