Kristi Noem files for divorce from husband Bryon in South Dakota court

Former Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem has filed for divorce from her husband Bryon in Hamlin County Court, citing irreconcilable differences, court documents show.

Kristi Noem has filed for divorce from her husband Bryon in Hamlin County Court in South Dakota, citing irreconcilable differences, the New York Post reported on Tuesday. Court documents obtained by Dakota News Now confirmed the filing was made on Monday.

The former South Dakota governor and former Homeland Security secretary has been married to Bryon since 1992, and the couple have three children.

Noem was fired as DHS chief by President Donald Trump in March. Days later, the Daily Mail reported that Bryon Noem had been chatting online with women from the so-called “bimbofication” fetish scene, publishing what it said were hundreds of messages and photographs. A representative for Noem said at the time that she was “devastated” and that the family had been “blindsided”.

In July, Noem’s mother Corinne Arnold told the Daily Mail the couple would divorce, saying she had asked her daughter directly at a family gathering and been told the marriage was over, USA Today reported at the time.

Noem, 54, has since been named a US special envoy for the Trump administration’s “Shield of the Americas” initiative.
