Lady Gaga and fiancé Michael Polansky have named their daughter Rose Bean Polansky, born on 9 June at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Lady Gaga and fiancé Michael Polansky have named their first child Rose Bean Polansky, a birth certificate obtained by TMZ reveals.
The baby girl was born on 9 June at 11:19pm at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to the documents TMZ obtained and reported on Thursday 17 September, as Parade reported. Sources close to the couple also confirmed the name to People.
The news ends weeks of secrecy around the arrival. Parade first reported on 11 September that the couple had welcomed their first child after the family of three was spotted together in Northern California, with Gaga later photographed carrying the infant close to her chest on another outing there.
An insider told People that the name Rose was inspired by “La Vie En Rose”, the song Gaga performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The singer also has a large rose tattoo running down her spine alongside the words “la vie en rose”. The middle name, Bean, likely honours activist Carl Bean, whose work inspired Gaga’s anthem “Born This Way”, the source added.
The couple have not personally explained their daughter’s name, and their representatives have not publicly commented on it or on the baby’s sex, Parade reported.
The birth was kept almost entirely private. USA Today noted that the singer had not previously disclosed her pregnancy, and Gaga’s representatives declined to confirm the baby’s name and sex when contacted.
