In his new memoir 'One Helluva Ride', out Tuesday, Michael Douglas admits he and 'Romancing the Stone' co-star Kathleen Turner had a secret romance on the 1984 set — a relationship they denied for four decades.

Michael Douglas has admitted he had a secret romance with his “Romancing the Stone” co-star Kathleen Turner while filming the 1984 hit — a relationship the pair denied for four decades.

The 82-year-old actor makes the admission in his memoir “One Helluva Ride”, out on Tuesday, in excerpts shared by People on Friday. He describes the “magic spell” of a romance on the set, writing that he and Turner were “immediately attracted to each other” and “fell hard”, keeping the connection hidden from co-star Danny DeVito, director Robert Zemeckis and the rest of the crew. https://pagesix.com/2026/10/02/entertainment/michael-douglas-finally-comes-clean-about-secret-relationship-with-kathleen-turner/

At the time Douglas was married to Diandra Luker, with whom he has son Cameron, though he says they were separated and “both having extramarital affairs”. For 40 years the pair’s “official story” was that they had “amazing chemistry” but “nothing ever happened between us”.
