Director Gurmmeet Singh has confirmed that the Prime Video series Mirzapur will return for a fourth season, with scripting already underway. The announcement follows the success of Mirzapur: The Movie, after which “the makers have started work on the fourth season of the Prime Video series”, and the new season is currently in development.
Shweta Tripathi, who plays Golu Gupta, is eager to revisit the role, telling mid-day: “Her journey is special to me. Golu’s experiences have changed her. And she is still changing. But I think that’s what makes her human. I have grown as an actor while playing her too, so in many ways, we have grown together.”
When Tripathi first played Golu, the character was “a reserved, studious young woman who believed in the power of education”, before loss, violence and revenge reshaped her.
The production timeline will be finalised only by early 2027, so fans face a long wait before the season reaches screens.
