Veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar dies at 75 after cardiac arrest at Goa home
Nana Patekar, 75, was found unconscious at his Dona Paula home and rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors performed CPR for 45 minutes before declaring him dead at 5:20 am on Thursday.

Nana Patekar, the veteran Indian actor, has died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, on Thursday morning, according to NDTV.
Patekar was found unconscious at his home and rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors performed CPR for about 45 minutes but could not revive him. He was declared dead at 5:20 am, NDTV reported, citing hospital sources. Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of Oncology at Manipal Hospital, told news agency ANI that despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, Patekar could not be revived; a medico-legal case has been registered and a post-mortem will be conducted, the Economic Times reported.
His son Malhar Patekar, who was in Pune, left for Goa, according to NDTV. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant mourned the actor, telling NDTV: “I have lost a good friend.” Sawant said Patekar called him whenever he was in Goa and was expanding his social work through the Nana Patekar Foundation; he recalled seeing a video of Patekar dancing with young Konkani artistes just two days ago.
Patekar was last seen publicly four days ago at the Samraat Club International installation ceremony in Dona Paula. Born Vishwanath Patekar on 1 January 1951 in Maharashtra, he won three National Film Awards and the Padma Shri in 2013, and was known for films including Natsamrat, Parinda, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome — in which he played Uday Shetty — Housefull 5 and Raajneeti, as well as playback singing in Yeshwant (1997), Wajood (1998) and Aanch (2003).
