Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after three motorcycle-borne men opened fire on him in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, police said. His driver and the driver of an autorickshaw were injured in the incident, according to the Hindustan Times.
The attack took place as the actor was leaving a football ground, with the assailants firing at his car before fleeing. Mumbai Police said Shroff “is safe and has not sustained any gunshot injuries” and that further investigation is underway. The injured were taken to hospital.
A social media post attributed to Anil Pandit of the Bishnoi gang has allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack, with the post naming Anil Harman Sandhu as an accomplice, the Hindustan Times reported. In the post, written in Hindi, the claimant said the actor had been warned previously and added that “anyone in the Mumbai film industry who does not listen to us or works with Salman Khan will be next.” Police have not verified the claim, and no arrests had been reported at the time of publication.
Shroff, 36, the son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, made his Bollywood debut with Heropanti in 2014 and is known for performing his own stunts.
