Royal Air Maroc selects Starlink for inflight Wi-Fi across 41 aircraft
Royal Air Maroc will equip 41 aircraft with Starlink Wi-Fi from early 2027, becoming the first African airline to offer the service — free for Safar Flyer members.

Royal Air Maroc has officially selected Starlink to bring high-speed inflight Wi-Fi to its passengers, announcing the decision in a post on X on 7 October 2026. The Moroccan flag carrier says it will gradually equip 41 aircraft with Starlink connectivity, with installation work starting in early 2027.
The airline will be the first in Africa to offer Starlink onboard, and access will be free of charge for members of its Safar Flyer loyalty programme. The rollout will proceed in stages to maintain operational continuity.
Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou said the agreement “reflects a clear ambition: to offer our passengers a travel experience that meets the highest international standards”. Starlink added that passengers and crew would get “the same high-speed, low-latency internet that is already transforming travel on other continents”.
Once installed, the system will allow passengers to stream content, communicate online and work during flights. Starlink’s low-Earth-orbit satellite network is designed for high-speed, low-latency connectivity and is already used by airlines including Air France and the Lufthansa Group.
The project forms part of Royal Air Maroc’s broader multi-year plan, which also includes fleet renewal and cabin refurbishment.
