The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New Orleans Saints 16-10 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Sunday, winning the NFL’s first regular-season game ever staged in France, NBC Sports reported.
Running back Jaylen Warren was the difference, carrying 18 times for 101 yards and catching three passes for 36 yards. Rico Dowdle added nine carries for 41 yards and six catches for 45 yards, while the Saints’ running game was shut down: Alvin Kamara managed six carries for five yards and Kendre Miller eight carries for six yards.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw one touchdown and no interceptions, theScore reported, and kept the game-clinching drive alive with an eight-yard run on third-and-six just before the two-minute warning, according to NBC Sports.
The Steelers led 13-10 at half-time after kicker Chris Boswell converted a 47-yard field goal as time expired, USA Today reported. Boswell’s 39-yard field goal in the third quarter, following Payton Wilson’s interception of Saints quarterback Tyler Shough, made it 16-10, and neither side scored in the fourth quarter.
The win improves Pittsburgh to 5-2, their third straight victory, while New Orleans fall to 2-5. The Saints also lost safety Justin Reid to a concussion and running back CJ Donaldson to a shoulder injury, NBC Sports reported.
