Security forces kill 19 terrorists in Balochistan operations, says ISPR

Pakistan’s security forces have killed 19 terrorists in separate operations in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said a clearance operation has been under way in the Shaban area of Quetta district since 21 September, following intelligence reports of multiple hideouts of what the military described as “Indian-sponsored” terrorists, Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan.

Thirteen terrorists have been killed in the Shaban operation so far, with weapons, ammunition and explosives recovered from the cleared hideouts. The operation will continue until the threat in the area is completely neutralised, the ISPR said.

In separate engagements on 22 and 23 September, security forces conducted pre-emptive intelligence-based operations in Kech district and Quetta West, killing six more terrorists and recovering weapons and ammunition.

Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, a resident of Taunsa Sharif in Dera Ghazi Khan district, embraced martyrdom in the exchange of fire, the statement said.

The military said its counter-terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace, and reiterated its commitment to eliminating what it called “foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism”.

The operations are separate from Wednesday’s reported actions in Mastung, Turbat’s Jausak area and Quetta’s Aghbarg, covered earlier by Flip News.
