Yemen's Houthi group says it carried out ballistic-missile and drone attacks on Aramco facilities in Riyadh and Khurais; the Saudi-led coalition dismissed the claims as misleading.

The Houthis claim missile and drone strikes on Aramco sites in Riyadh and the Khurais area — claims the Saudi-led coalition rejects (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/4/houthis-claim-strike-on-saudi-energy-facility-as-yemen-fighting-intensifies).

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said on X on Saturday (4 October) that the group carried out a “military operation with ballistic missiles and drones” targeting Aramco in Riyadh, calling the strikes “precise and direct” and saying they caused fires (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/4/houthis-claim-strike-on-saudi-energy-facility-as-yemen-fighting-intensifies). In a separate Telegram statement on Sunday he claimed two operations — a drone attack on Aramco in Riyadh and another in Khurais — saying both hit their objectives and caused large fires (ANI via Lokmat Times, 5 October 06:50 IST).

Saree said the attacks answered Saudi aggression, alleging “50 air and missile strikes” in the last 12 hours on Sanaa, Al-Jawf, Taiz, Amran, Hajjah and Sa’dah and “1,460” since the escalation began, warning of “siege for siege and escalation for escalation” (ANI via Lokmat Times).

Coalition spokesman Maj Gen Turki al-Maliki called the Riyadh claims “misleading”, accusing the Houthis of diverting attention from battlefield losses around Taiz (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/4/houthis-claim-strike-on-saudi-energy-facility-as-yemen-fighting-intensifies). Early Sunday the coalition said its forces conducted 97 “precise targeting operations” against Houthi reinforcements on the Tor al-Baha front and the Taiz axis, per Al Jazeera (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/4/houthis-claim-strike-on-saudi-energy-facility-as-yemen-fighting-intensifies). Yemen’s government forces spokesman Col. Majed Abdullah al-Nazili said the operations targeted “at least 260 Houthi fighters and destroyed or disabled 44 military vehicles” (Al Jazeera). Neither side’s claims have been independently verified.

Late last month the Houthis said they attacked Aramco in Yanbu; Saudi Arabia said it intercepted six ballistic missiles towards Taif and Yanbu with no Aramco damage.
