Iran says it will increase missile range after war with the United States
Army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia told Fars news agency Iran will upgrade the range of its missiles after concluding American forces are positioned up to 1,000 kilometres from its coast.

Iran will upgrade the range of its missiles following its war with the United States, after concluding that American forces are positioned as much as 1,000 kilometres (621 miles) from the Iranian coast, army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said in an interview with the Fars news agency.
“During this war, we concluded that we absolutely must increase the range of our missiles, and we have now moved in that direction,” Akraminia told Fars on Sunday, in remarks reported by Reuters.
The announcement lands amid a deepening standoff over the Strait of Hormuz. On Sunday, Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the strait would not reopen until seven Iranian conditions, set out in a June interim understanding with Washington, are met — while Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran’s proposal could lead to a reopening within seven days if accepted.
Washington has imposed a counterblockade on Iranian ports, and a UK maritime agency reported on Sunday that another tanker in the strait had been struck by an unknown projectile, with the crew reported safe.
