Trump says Iran war will end "the nice way or the not-so-nice way"
Donald Trump has warned that the US-Iran war will be finished "the nice way or the not-so-nice way", speaking at a shipyard announcement in Maryland on Tuesday.

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the United States must “finish up” its war with Iran, warning it would end “the nice way or the not-so-nice way” — “pretty soon you’ll find out” which.
Speaking at an Anduril Industries shipyard announcement in Sparrows Point, Maryland, Trump said: “We’re doing extremely well in the Islamic Republic of Iran, very well. They have no military. It’s shot; the whole place is shot. And they were the evil one. They were the bully of the Middle East. They’re not so much the bully anymore, but we have to finish up.”
He also claimed Iran’s leadership was in disarray: “Their second group of leaders are gone, and the biggest problem I have is nobody knows who the hell is running the country.”
Trump said Iran’s oil minister, Mohsen Paknejad, had resigned. Iranian state media reported the resignation was for personal reasons and that President Masoud Pezeshkian had accepted it, naming National Iranian Oil Company chief executive Hamid Bovard as acting minister.
He claimed Iranian inflation was “almost 300%” and that Paknejad had said Iran had “no economy” and “no oil” — claims not independently established in the reports reviewed. Trump described the US naval blockade of Iranian ports as a “wall of steel”, saying: “Not one ship has gotten through to Iran. The only ships that go through are the ones that we let go through.”
The event marked a $3.7 billion Anduril investment alongside $2.9 billion from the US Navy, which Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth called the largest US shipyard since the Second World War. The war began on 28 February with US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
