Case Keenum stars as Bears stun Eagles 27-7 on Monday Night Football

Veteran quarterback Case Keenum threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns in his first start since 2023 as the Chicago Bears beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7.

Case Keenum passed for 247 yards and two touchdowns — and ran for another score — as the Chicago Bears stunned the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7 on Monday Night Football at Soldier Field.

Keenum, 38, was making his first start since December 2023, stepping in for Caleb Williams, who missed the game with a strained right hamstring. Backup Tyson Bagent had cleared the concussion protocol on Sunday but Keenum kept the job after preparing all week with the first team.

The veteran finished 24 of 34 with no interceptions. He capped the opening drive with an 8-yard shovel pass to Luther Burden III and found a wide-open Kalif Raymond for a 41-yard touchdown in the second half; Raymond finished with six catches for 90 yards. Keenum added a 1-yard rushing touchdown with 7:19 remaining — his first on the ground since 2019 — to seal a 13-play drive that consumed more than eight minutes.

Chicago’s defence forced three takeaways. Jalen Hurts went 16 of 25 for 153 yards with an interception, though his quarterback sneak as time expired cut the deficit to 10-7 at half-time. Backup Andy Dalton was intercepted in the end zone by rookie Dillon Thieneman, and linebacker T.J. Edwards picked off Hurts late in the third quarter. Saquon Barkley managed 82 yards on 15 carries.

Both teams are now 2-1.
