Brewers sweep Dodgers 6-4 in Game 4 to reach first World Series since 1982
Milwaukee completed a 4-0 NLCS sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 6-4 comeback win in Game 4 at Dodger Stadium, earning the franchise's second World Series trip.
The Milwaukee Brewers are heading to the World Series after completing a stunning four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 6-4 comeback victory in Game 4 at Dodger Stadium on Thursday (Fox6 Now).
The Dodgers struck first with four runs in the second inning, but Milwaukee responded in the fourth when Jake Bauers’ ground-rule double drove in Brice Turang and William Contreras. David Hamilton’s single in the fifth brought home Sal Frelick, and a bases-loaded walk to Bauers tied the game at 4-4. Home runs from Garrett Mitchell in the sixth and Hamilton in the ninth sealed the 6-4 final (Sportradar box score, Status: Final).
The sweep sends Milwaukee to its second World Series appearance and its first since 1982, when the franchise lost in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals.
The World Series begins on Friday, October 23, airing on FOX and streaming on FOX ONE. The Brewers will face the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Guardians.
