Brewers walk off Padres 4-3 in Game 2 to take 2-0 NLDS lead

Jackson Chourio's bases-loaded walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres in Game 2 of the NLDS and a 2-0 series lead.

The Milwaukee Brewers stunned the San Diego Padres 4-3 in Game 2 of the National League Division Series on Sunday, taking a 2-0 series lead on a walk-off win at American Family Field.

Facing closer Mason Miller in the bottom of the ninth, Jackson Chourio laced a bases-loaded single with two outs to score two runs and end it, according to USA Today’s game report. San Diego had carried a 3-2 lead into the final frame after an error-strewn game that saw the two sides commit five errors between them.

Padres starter Michael King took a perfect game into the fifth inning — broken up by Christian Yelich’s double — and was pulled in the bottom of the sixth, striking out six with no walks. San Diego had scored first on Ty France’s RBI single in the first inning. Neither the Brewers nor the Padres have ever won a World Series.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Petco Park in San Diego, with Nick Pivetta starting for the Padres and Dustin May for the Brewers. More: NLDS coverage.
