Coco Gauff will compete for the United States' Billie Jean King Cup team in its November 21-22 qualifying tie against Hungary at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Coco Gauff is in.

The 22-year-old Delray Beach star will compete for the United States’ Billie Jean King Cup team when it hosts Hungary in a qualifying tie at the Delray Beach Tennis Center on November 21-22, the Palm Beach Post has learned.

The tie is a qualifier to get the Americans back into the 2027 Billie Jean King Cup tournament after the USA failed to reach the 2026 Finals. Gauff did not play for the team in 2024 or 2025, and her return had been widely expected.

US Billie Jean King Cup coach Lindsay Davenport said in August that she expected to announce most of the roster soon after the US Open. According to the Post, one believed holdup has been whether Venus Williams and Serena Williams — who live in nearby Jupiter — would play doubles for the USA, though sources still consider that a longshot.

The Williams sisters lost in the first round of US Open doubles. Serena Williams came out of retirement to play singles at Wimbledon, losing in the first round, and has not competed since the US Open doubles defeat, the Post reports.

The full five-person roster will be announced on October 21. Jessica Pegula, who lives in Boca Raton, is considered a top candidate.

Gauff will also partly own — and play for — a South Florida team in the newly resurrected World Team Tennis league that opens play in December, the Post reports.
