Croatia 0-7 England: Kane and Saka at the double as Tuchel's men equal Nations League record in Rijeka rout

England thrashed Croatia 7-0 in Rijeka — Kane and Saka scoring twice each with Bellingham, Gordon and substitute Rogers also on target — to equal the Nations League record and move to six points in Group A3.

England produced one of the great away performances in their history on Saturday night, humbling Croatia 7-0 in Rijeka to equal the Nations League record and take their Group A3 campaign firmly in hand, Sportradar’s final score and talkSPORT’s live coverage confirmed.

Thomas Tuchel’s side were four up by half-time at Stadion HNK Rijeka: Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 8th minute, Jude Bellingham doubled the lead in the 21st, Anthony Gordon added a third in the 39th and Bukayo Saka made it four on the stroke of half-time, per Sky Sports’ live commentary. Kane struck again shortly after the restart, Saka capitalised on a Josip Stanisic error for 6-0 in the 68th, and substitute Morgan Rogers — teed up by Bellingham’s clipped ball over the defence — rounded Dominik Livakovic to complete the rout in the 87th minute, The Times’ live blog reported.

Bellingham finished with a hat-trick of assists, talkSPORT noted, and Kane’s brace made it six consecutive away games in which the captain has scored — one short of Tom Finney’s all-time England record.

The match was played behind closed doors following UEFA’s punishment of Croatia, with only local schoolchildren’s groups in the stands alongside around 100 England supporters, who taunted the hosts with chants of “Are you Scotland in disguise?”

The win takes England to six points from three matches in Group A3, after their opening defeat to world champions Spain and Tuesday’s 2-0 win in Prague against the Czech Republic.
