Falcons rout Saints 45-24 on Monday Night Football behind five rushing touchdowns
Bijan Robinson scored two rushing touchdowns and Brian Robinson added three as Atlanta piled up five scores on the ground, routing New Orleans 45-24 at the Superdome on Monday night.
NEW ORLEANS — The Atlanta Falcons ran over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, piling up five rushing touchdowns in a 45-24 rout at the Caesars Superdome.
Bijan Robinson set the tone on the third play from scrimmage with a 59-yard touchdown run and finished the first half with 103 yards and two scores as Atlanta led 24-7 at the break. Brian Robinson scored three touchdowns on the night, his final one pushing the lead to 45-17 before the Saints tacked on a late score, according to Fox Sports.
Michael Penix Jr threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Jahan Dotson for Atlanta’s only passing score. For the Saints, Alvin Kamara found the end zone twice and Tyler Shough connected with Devaughn Vele on a toe-tap touchdown in the final minutes, per USA Today’s live updates.
The win lifts the Falcons to 2-2 as they continue their turnaround since Penix’s return from injury, while the Saints fall to 1-3.
