Giants stun Cardinals 36-24 on Banks' walk-off 98-yard pick-six
Deonte Banks intercepted Jacoby Brissett on fourth-and-goal and returned it 98 yards for a walk-off touchdown as the New York Giants beat the Arizona Cardinals 36-24 at MetLife Stadium.
The New York Giants are 3-1 for the first time since 2022 after Deonte Banks intercepted Jacoby Brissett on fourth-and-goal and returned it 98 yards for a touchdown as time expired to beat the Arizona Cardinals 36-24 at MetLife Stadium.
The Giants were clinging to a six-point lead when Arizona drove to first-and-goal at the four-yard line. Brissett threw three incompletions in a row, then Banks jumped a fourth-down pass intended for Michael Wilson and went the distance for the game-sealing score.
Jameis Winston, starting for the second consecutive game in place of Jaxson Dart, completed 18 of 29 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions. Malik Nabers caught six passes for a season-high 112 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown, while Theo Johnson’s 11-yard score and Najee Harris’s two-point conversion put New York back in front 27-24 late in the third quarter.
Rookie Malachi Fields caught his first career touchdown on a 12-yard grab late in the second quarter, ending a nine-quarter Giants touchdown drought. Cam Skattebo carried 18 times for 58 yards.
Brissett threw two touchdowns but was intercepted three times, and the Cardinals fell to 1-3. The Giants remain unbeaten at MetLife Stadium and sit atop the NFC East.
