Lamar Jackson exits Ravens' clash with Titans after ankle injury

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did not start the second half of Sunday's Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans and is questionable to return with an ankle injury, per the team.

Lamar Jackson’s Week 4 came to a worrying halt on Sunday after the Baltimore Ravens quarterback left their game against the Tennessee Titans with an ankle injury.

Jackson did not start the second half at M&T Bank Stadium and is listed as questionable to return, per the team. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley entered the game in the third quarter with Baltimore leading 24-7.

It is unclear exactly when Jackson was hurt, though he was sacked on the play before Baltimore’s half-ending field goal. The 64-yard effort from kicker Tyler Loop sent the Ravens into the interval with a commanding lead, but Jackson did not reappear for the second half.

The two-time NFL MVP had already appeared on Baltimore’s injury report this week, practising on a limited basis on Wednesday with a back issue before being cleared with no game status designation. The ankle injury is a fresh concern.

Jackson’s departure is a serious blow for a Ravens side that entered Sunday at 2-1 and chasing its first home win of the season. The Titans, winless at 0-3, had been held to seven points at the break.

Huntley takes over under centre as the Ravens look to protect their lead.

This story will be updated with the result and Jackson’s post-game status.
