Manchester United post record £677.6m revenue — but annual loss widens to £43m
Manchester United have posted record full-year revenue of £677.6m and a record £216.4m adjusted EBITDA for the year to 30 June 2026, but the club's net loss widened to £43m as borrowing rose to £583m.
Manchester United announced record full-year revenue of £677.6m for the year to 30 June 2026, up from the previous £666.5m record, despite playing no UEFA competition football.
The club also reported a full-year operating profit of £22.6m — against an £18.4m operating loss the year before — and record adjusted EBITDA of £216.4m, up 18.4%. But the net loss widened to £43.0m from £33.0m — a seventh straight annual loss. Fourth-quarter revenue of £157.5m was down on last year’s £164.1m, blamed on fixture phasing and the comparator quarter including a post-season tour and the Europa League final.
Chief executive Omar Berrada said the figures showed “the underlying strength of our business, particularly in a season without European football”.
Borrowing is up £95m to £583m, with non-current borrowings at £577.6m versus £471.9m a year ago, according to The Sun. A revolving credit facility stood at £110m. The wage bill fell to £302m after squad changes and the headcount-reduction programme, while broadcast income rose £33.9m thanks to the third-place finish. Matchday revenue fell after early cup exits to Grimsby and Brighton left United with a 40-game season.
The men’s team finished third in the Premier League — up from 15th — and returned to the Champions League, while the women’s team finished fourth in the WSL and reached the Women’s Champions League quarter-finals for the first time. The club confirmed it has secured land for a proposed 100,000-seat stadium and guided to £740–760m revenue in fiscal 2027.
