Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a broken collarbone and a concussion in Monday night’s 24-9 loss to the Detroit Lions, and coach Todd Bowles said the six-time Pro Bowler will be sidelined for most of the rest of the season, theScore reported, citing the Associated Press.

Evans had returned to the lineup after missing three games with a hamstring injury but did not last a half in Detroit. He was hurt late in the second quarter while attempting to make a catch, was evaluated by the medical staff on the field, walked slowly to the sideline and was taken to the locker room on a cart, according to the AP report.

“He’s going to be gone until toward the last of the season,” Bowles said after the game.

The Buccaneers did get rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka back in the lineup after he had been listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. Detroit, meanwhile, was strengthened by the return of defensive tackle Alim McNeill — playing for the first time since tearing a knee ligament in Week 15 last season — and offensive tackle Taylor Decker, who had missed the previous two games with a shoulder injury.

The Lions ruled out defensive backs Kerby Joseph, Terrion Arnold and Avonte Maddox through injury, and were without suspended safety Brian Branch, who sat out one game after throwing a punch and starting a postgame melee following last week’s loss at Kansas City, the AP noted.
