A Mumbai Police team taking the three accused in the Tiger Shroff shooting case turned back and spent the night in Kota after suspecting they were being followed, The Indian Express reported, citing sources.

The team had left Kota on Monday evening after a judge granted Mumbai Police a 48-hour transit remand. Officers stopped at a police station before returning to the city for the night; they will re-leave once satisfied with security, likely with a Rajasthan Police escort. The Statesman independently reported the revised overnight travel plan, described by police as “Plan B”.

The three men — Phool Singh (18), Hrithik Mahto (22) and Rehan Rahisuddin (18) — were arrested on Monday morning aboard the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express at Kota station in a joint operation after a Mumbai Police tip-off (The Indian Express, The Times of India). Mumbai Crime Branch DCP Raj Tilak Roshan confirmed all three are adults and said five to six shots were fired at Shroff’s car on Sunday evening in Juhu. The motorcycle used in the crime was recovered in Andheri, no weapons were found on the suspects, and police said they were heading to Nepal (Lokmat/PTI).

Attempt-to-murder charges have been invoked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act (ABP Live). Shroff escaped unhurt; his driver and a bystander sustained injuries (The Federal).

A social media post claiming responsibility for the attack is being verified, and police said they have no record of any alleged threat calls to Shroff (ABP Live).
