Odell Beckham Jr. has a new home: the Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday they have signed him to their practice squad, a week after his release by the New York Giants. (NBC Sports)

NFL insider Jordan Schultz broke the news first. (The Spun) The 4-0 Vikings travel to New Orleans on Sunday, and the signing adds depth behind Justin Jefferson, who missed the Week 4 win over Miami with an ankle injury and is uncertain for the trip. (Reuters) (USA Today)

It is also a reunion: head coach Kevin O’Connell was Beckham’s offensive coordinator with the 2021 Los Angeles Rams, and Beckham caught 27 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight games, then 21 for 288 yards and two scores in the postseason before tearing his ACL in Super Bowl LVI. The Giants released Beckham on 29 September after three games without a catch — 20 offensive snaps and one target against Tennessee. He turns 34 next month and did not play in the NFL last season. (Reuters)

Drafted 12th overall out of LSU in 2014, he was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and made three straight Pro Bowls; career totals stand at 575 catches for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns in 122 games. (Reuters)

Minnesota also signed receiver Jeshaun Jones to the practice squad; centre Michael Jurgens and tight end Ben Yurosek returned from injured reserve. (NBC Sports) Beckham will wear No. 9, vacated by J.J. McCarthy, traded to the Giants on 28 September, and the Vikings do not face the Giants this regular season. (USA Today) (NY Post)
