Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets to reach Asian Games cricket final

Pakistan chased down Bangladesh's 111 for seven in a rain-shortened 13-over semi-final at Nisshin to book their place in the men's cricket final at the Asian Games 2026 on October 3.

Pakistan won the first semi-final of the men’s cricket event at the Asian Games 2026 in Nisshin, Japan on Thursday, beating Bangladesh by six wickets to reach the final on October 3.

A wet outfield at Korogi Sports Park reduced the match to 13 overs per innings. Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan won the toss and chose to field first.

Bangladesh made 111 for seven in their 13 overs, with Towhid Hridoy top-scoring with 42 from 25 balls. Spinner Sufyan Muqeem was Pakistan’s best bowler, taking three wickets, while Arafat Minhas took two.

The chase turned tricky at 53 for four in the 6.1st over, but Hasan Nawaz (27 not out from 22 balls) and Abdul Samad (30 not out from 15 balls) added an unbeaten 59 off 32 balls to steer Pakistan to the 112-run target in the 12th over.

Pakistan will face the winner of the second semi-final between India and Sri Lanka, played later on Thursday, in the gold-medal match on October 3.
